Get ready to enliven your Thursday evenings, as the free and open to the public Village Jazz Series returns better than ever to the Village Area of Yuma Palms Regional Center, 1305 S Yuma Palms Pkwy, for its 16th season in 2024! Bring your favorite lawn chair and experience great live jazz, in a diversity of forms, sharing its creative warmth under the stars amid palm trees swaying, water features sparkling, friendly eateries deliciously close, and the mesmerizing Yuma evenings setting the stage for unforgettable musical journeys.

All performances are on Thursday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 in the Village Area of Yuma Palms Regional Center. Grab your favorite folding chair, relax and enjoy! The music itself, of course, is the adventure! Along with appearances by the highly regarded Host Band, Yuma Jazz Company, the series will feature performances by some nationally known jazz artists, including Billboard Magazine’s Smooth Jazz Artist of the Year Walter Beasley, soulful vocalist Renee Grant Patrick, appearing with amazing pianist Nicole Pesce, award winning piano sensation Ed Kornhauser with his Trio, Phoenix standout drummer Robby Carrillo with his Quartet, and accomplished guitarist/vocalist Pete Pancrazi. PLUS – Dixieland continues as an annual crowd favorite of the Series with San Diego’s Society Boys.

Exceptional local musicians performing this year will include vocalist Jennifer Wayman Hart, instrumental/vocal duo Jason & Elle, and the ever-popular Yuma Big Band. Continuing its tradition of showcasing outstanding student musicians, the Village Jazz Series will also present performances by the jazz bands from Arizona Western College, Cibola High School, and Gila Ridge High School.

March 7 – Renee Patrick and Nicole Pesce

Phoenix’s soulful vocalist Renee Patrick will perform with the always exciting pianist Nicole Pesce. This duo impresses audiences in the Phoenix area and internationally, and were a huge hit when they appeared in the Village Jazz Series in 2023. 

March 14 – Pete Pancrazi

Much loved staple of the Series, Phoenix guitarist and vocalist Pete Pancrazi performs with his quartet, winning audiences over with his nimble guitar work, warm vocals, and personal charm. 

March 21 – Society Boys

San Diego’s Society Boys have become regular guests of the Village Jazz Series, they are a favorite on the traditional jazz circuit, and their lively brand of Dixieland is always popular with Village audiences. 

March 28 – Yuma Jazz Company

Village Jazz Series Host Band, Yuma Jazz Company, revives its eagerly anticipated “Latin Jazz Eruption,” combusting salsas, bossas, and sambas with spicy YumaJazz energy. 

April 4 – Jason & Elle

Yuma’s kinetic duo Jason & Elle returns for a second engagement this season, displaying their popular and compelling mix of engaging musical styles. 

April 11 – Yuma Big Band

In a return performance this season, the popular Yuma Big Band will fill the Village Area with big, swinging sounds! Gotta love the YBB! 

April 18 – Robby Carrillo

Phoenix’s first-call drummer, Robby Carrillo, brings his talented Quartet to the Village Jazz Series. Percussionist, educator and consummate professional, Robby is returning home to perform - a hometown Yuman! 

April 25 – Yuma Jazz Company

Closing the Series on a high note, Yuma Jazz Company will perform with some talented “surprised guests.” You never know who’s going to show up, or what’s going to happen, but it’s going to be fun!
